Secartys drives the debate on technological sovereignty in defense with a dedicated session at FEINDEF 2025.

A technical meeting that will address the challenges and opportunities in the defense sector supply chain.

At a crucial moment for the European technology industry, Secartys is organizing the event “High-Impact Technologies for the Defense Sector: Challenges and Opportunities in the Supply Chain” within the framework of FEINDEF . It will take place on Monday, May 12th, in Room A9.8 of Pavilion 9 at IFEMA Madrid from 12:00 to 13:30.

This event, open to professionals, organizations, and companies from the electronics, defense, renewable energy, and smart technology sectors, will focus on how technological innovation can become a strategic tool to address the new challenges of security, industrial resilience, and technological autonomy facing Europe.

In a context of increasing technological and supply chain complexity, the session will serve as a space for reflection and technical assessment on critical elements for the defense supply chain, such as strategic microelectronics, quantum defense, hardware security, and national capacity for manufacturing mission-critical components.

The session will feature a high-level round table, moderated by Luis Martínez Gavilán, president of the HUB de Defensa de Galicia, bringing together four professionals with a strong track record in key areas for national technological autonomy:

  • Bruno Demo, Supply Chain Purchasing Director at Icompplus Electronics, will share their insights on how to manage lead times in the context of the global semiconductor shortage, as well as the need to diversify supply sources and reduce dependency on imports.
  • Andrés Quiñoy, Supply Chain and Finance Director at Arteixo Telecom, will address the quality and reliability requirements in the supply of electronic components for extreme operational environments, with special focus on MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) control protocols.
  • Jose Rosa, technical manager in CIPSACIRCUITS, will share their experience in PCB manufacturing technologies, highlighting the role of advanced metallization as a guarantee of durability and mechanical resistance in military systems.
  • Jose Antonio Andres, CEO in CERC Ingeniería, will explain the importance of MIL-standard testing and the design of validation plans for strategic components in high-risk environments.

During the 90-minute session, strategies will be explored to strengthen traceability in dual-use (civil-military) supply chains, combat planned obsolescence, and promote the development of proprietary technologies to address emerging technological challenges—such as the integration of artificial intelligence in defense systems and the implementation of anti-tamper chips as a response to cyber threats.

The session will conclude with an informal networking event accompanied by refreshments, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect directly with representatives from the Armed Forces, innovation and technology development leaders, and executives from specialized companies.

With this initiative, Secartys —an association with over half a century of experience and more than 500 member organizations—reaffirms its commitment to internationalization, digital transformation, and the competitiveness of the Spanish industrial ecosystem. Promoting forums like this, within one of the largest events in the sector in Europe, addresses the need to consolidate a strong national technological base capable of playing a leading role in the major challenges of the future.
