If you are looking for the best passive electronic components, in Icompplus we give you the best solution to all your doubts: a wide range of instruments and tools perfect for this type of circuits.

However, the main question is: how do we differ from the rest? Not only in the high quality of passive components, but also in a great attention to any detail and the offer of unmatched prices in the technology sector. Don't miss yours!

What are passive electronic components?

The passive elements of electronics are all those that have no ability to control or modify the current by means of another electrical signal; these have only two terminals, and through them passes a single current. In addition, they do not vary, even if the conditions and electrical context in their environment change.

They do not produce amplification and collaborate with the optimal functioning of the active components, or the so-called semiconductors (integrated circuits, diodes or rectifiers, and transistors).

Differences between passive and active electronic components

Passive and active electronic components are a fundamental part of any electrical circuit, and therefore complement each other in the best possible way. Both play an important role and are intended to be together to fulfill a particular function.

On the one hand, active components are those that can control the flow of electricity, and are already integrated in most boards, which always have to have one of them. Their most common examples, as mentioned above, are integrated circuits, diodes and transistors.

Por otro lado, los componentes pasivos están conformados por aquellos elementos que no pueden controlar ni modificar la corriente eléctrica a su antojo, y por ello necesitan de los otros para completarse.

Types of passive components

At Icompplus, we have a great variety of passive electronic components, so that web users can have access and availability of any of them according to their needs and preferences.

Condensors

The condensors, or electrical capacitors, are those passive elements in a circuit that are responsible for storing the electrical charge (amount of electricity or potential) in the form of potential difference, to release it later.

Inductors

The inductors, also called coils or solenoids, are responsible for inducing a magnetic fieldwhen it is crossed by an electric current.

These have a wide range of utilities, but they are mainly used in electric motors, transformers, locks, doorbells, differential switches, or modulation circuits.

Resistors

whose function is to oppose the passage of electric current, and is installed inside the circuits to limit it in a controlled manner so that it never exceeds a certain amount of electricity.

Potentiometers

This is a variable resistance, which is responsible for limiting the passage of electric current in a circuit, causing the voltage drop between both sides as in a fixed resistor, but with the difference that the value of the current and voltage may vary and is not always the same.

Varistors

A varistor or VDR (Voltage Dependent Resistor), is a passive electronic component that modifies the electrical resistance depending on the voltage applied at its ends. This, initially, behaves like an open switch, except when it is subjected to a lot of voltage and quickly lowers its resistance to a very low value (closed switch).
